AUDITIONS FOR THE CONSERVATOIRE'S 2011 MUSICAL KISMET DATE: SATURDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2011 VENUE: THE KENYA CONSERVATOIRE OF MUSIC (KENYA CULTURAL CENTRE – OPPOSITE THE FAIRMONT NORFOLK, HARRY THUKU ROAD)
ABOUT KISMET Kismet is one of the Arabian Nights tales. The story tells of a very poor and very cunning poet whose daughter falls in love with the Caliph (king). The musical is based on a play by Edward Knoblock and its libretto was written by Charles Lederer and Luther Davis. The music was written by Robert Wright and George Forrest based on a theme composed by Alexander Borodin
WHO CAN AUDITION? Anyone from age 7!
AUDITION CATEGORIES One can audition for one of the following roles:
AUDITION DETAILS MAIN ACTORS These people take the parts that are crucial to the plot of the story. The ability to sing well is of great importance. Audition Time: From 10:30 am (registration closes at 12: 30 pm) Requirements
CHORUS/ SUPPORTING CAST These people sing the chorus parts of the musical and also do some minimal acting eg in crowd scenes. They also do some dancing. Audition Time: From 2 pm (registration closes at 4 pm) Requirements
DANCERS These need to be accomplished dancers. They will do some acting but will not do any singing. Audition Time: From 2 pm (registration closes at 4 pm) Requirements
