Individual Tuition

Each student is assigned to a tutor for each individual tuition session, at the same time every week. The contents of the curriculum are tailored to each individual student. The student is then expected to practice the concepts learned within a lesson and to return the following week to proceed to the next topic. Daily practice by the student is essential for progress.
Each term is 12 weeks long.

(Guitar, Theory and Singing)

Sing Out! Voice Program

Foundational knowledge of the various elements of choral music.

Our 2-hour practical sessions explore skills in music that are of benefit to members and directors of choirs involved in various genres, including classical, popular and traditional music and develops core skills in choral directing, while aural classes enable singers to develop their perception and execution of rhythm, pitch and tonal structures and sight-reading.

Aims Of The Program
  • Improve sight reading proficiency. 
  • Teach basic skills in music to make more literate singers. 
  • Help choir members become better singers. 
  • Teach essential choir directing skills and practices by introducing them to choral conducting techniques. 
  • Prepare the Sing Out! Participants for the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) choir syllabus.

Admission Requirements
  • Participants must be 18 years and above. Background in music is not required
  • We have limited space for 15 sopranos, 15 altos, 10 tenors
    and 10 bases. 
  • Registration deadline is 27th March 2021

Duration

The course will take 12 weeks to complete. At the end of the course, candidates will sit for the ABRSM choral exam.

Lesson Fees Per Term

The total fee for the course is kshs. 6,000/ per student.
The exam fee will be confirmed later.

Group Guitar Course

Designed for people who want to learn guitar in a group setting.

Through practical sessions, discussions and teamwork assignments, you will develop your practical techniques, sight-reading, tone quality and a variety of other skills

that are vital to playing the guitar. In combination with some regular practice, you can also use the opportunity to gain new confidence, independence and agility on your instrument.

Admission Requirement
  • Each student must have his/her own guitar.
  • Minimum age requirement is 16 years
  • Maximum number of students 4–12 students per class
  • Registration deadline is 27th March 2021
Course Duration

The course will take two terms and each term consists of 12 sessions.

  • Term one – 12 sessions of one hour once per week
  • Term two – 12 sessions of one hour once per week

Since practice is very essential in learning an instrument, students are allowed to come for practice daily at no extra charge.

Group Theory Course

This course will introduce students to the theory of music, 

The course will provide students with the skills needed to read and write Western music notation, as well as to
understand and analyse music.

This course covers the fundamentals of Western music theory, from the
absolute basics to some more advanced concepts and, as such, is the perfect course for beginners and more experienced musicians alike.

BANKER’S CHEQUE

Banker’s cheques in favor of KENYA CONSERVATOIRE OF MUSIC are accepted. We will continue to accept personal and company cheques until 31st March 2015. From 1st April 2015, only banker’s cheques will be accepted.

IMPORTANT!

Please note that as a matter of policy, any returned cheque will elicit a fee of Ksh. 3000/- payable to the Kenya Conservatoire of Music regardless of the reason that the cheque was returned. Please ensure that your cheques are presentable to avoid this penalty.
